hmm, I've been recommended a ND2-ND400 variable nd, but after talking to more people they said I have to go with lee filters. (and the dilemma starts again) ..the problem is I've never used any of them before, so all I can do is go on what people say. The thing with getting single filters though is they're not always right for the type of day. And I have a 82mm lens, which is proving slight difficult to find filters for :D

variable nds are great, if you buy an expensive one, because lots have like an x visible in the pictures (in higher stops). Lucky you, a 82mm lens ;)
if i were you i wouldn't buy a lee filter as your first filter,it's way too much expensive, and would be great for you to practice on sth less expensive
and then get a lee one :D

You have a good point there. I'll have a look around on what's on the market and compare prices. Both vaiable nds and the lee filters have their down sides though.. but anyway, thank you :) :hug:
